BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT MANAGER

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced and enthusiastic Business Development Manager for a leading luxury interior solutions company that has over the past 30 years, elevated the definition of luxury living across the Asia-Pacific region. The geographic focus of activities will be across Singapore and Malaysia.

As a Business Development Manager, you will play a pivotal role in advancing business across an extensive network of developers, architects and the interior design community. Using your relationship-building skills to connect with clients, you will provide market insight and will be required to work closely with the General Manager and Commercial Sales Manager to develop solutions-based strategies to expand the market presence and achieve growth ambitions.

You should come with existing relationships with key stakeholders in the industry, relevant work experience and good business acumen for the interiors segment. In addition, you must be extremely organised, self-motivated, and experienced to drive growth, retention and acquisition for projects and accelerate commercial sales. Previous relevant experience or in a similar role in sales and with a strong and curious interest in architecture and design is preferred. 

Key Responsibilities

Achieving Sales Target + Budgets
A key aspect of your role is to ensure that sales targets and budgets are achieved and exceeded.

  • Proactively promoting luxury lifestyle interior solutions while identifying and developing new business opportunities.
  • Building a strong conduit and collaborating with clients through direct sales opportunities.
  • Marketing, conceptualising ideas to promote and articulate the value of the organization and brands it represents. Proactively managing marketing strategies that can assist with developing sales opportunities.
  • Ensure initiatives executed are aligned with the brand. Always being innovative, pushing the boundaries of what we can achieve and setting us apart from competitors.
  • Strategic and long-term focused while anticipating changes to market conditions. 

Project Management

  • This role will require the individual to have some product and technical knowledge of loose furniture and joinery systems and having the confidence to resolve related issues.
  • Possess good knowledge and understanding of project tender requirements; work at site and management processes.

Requirements

  • Preferably a Degree holder with 8 years of Business Development related working experience in the furniture, construction or interior design industry.
  • You love selling and winning.
  • You are a strong negotiator - This involves managing pricing negotiations with both the clients and suppliers to achieve the best outcome.
  • A strong service mind-set - ability and passion to deliver excellent client service levels at all times.
  • A pleasant personality, positive working attitude with a high degree of initiative, great determination and drive.
  • Strong management skills and a good team player collaborating and working alongside other business functions.
