Konstantin Grcic

German born and apprenticed as a cabinet maker at Parnham College, UK, followed by an MA in Industrial Design at the Royal College of Art, London. Konstantin Grcic opened his own studio in 1991 to specialise in various fields of design, from furniture and industrial products, to exhibition design and architecture related work. Many of Konstantin Grcic's products have received international design awards and form part of the permanent collections of the world's most prestigious museums including MOMA, New York, Centre Georges Pompidou, Paris, and Die Neue Sammlung, Munich, The work of his studio is characterised by careful research into the history of design and architecture and a passion for technology and materials. Known for pared- down pieces, Grcic's work is refined down to its key elements resulting in work that is elegantly simple.
