Known for his sophisticated restraint across architecture, interiors and furniture, Vincent Van Duysen’s new Pablo Outdoor collection for B&B Italia delivers solidity and strength within a calm, relaxed form.
Vincent Van Duysen has applied his ultra-sophisticated yet highly restrained approach to Pablo, a new outdoor collection for B&B Italia. Using teak, a material perfectly suited to outdoor environments for its structure, the collection of armchair, sofas and footstool delivers a solidity and elegance rarely found in outdoor furniture. The simple structure features a soft radius on one side of the legs and arms to lighten the look and further enhance the design’s tactile qualities.
A generously upholstered seat provides a high level of comfort but Van Duysen has chosen to offset the visual weight of this by a loose back cushion to keep the design looking relaxed and informal. The sofa in the collection is available in two seat depths; the shallower version being more upright and suited to conversation while the deeper option provides the relaxed seating style of a chaise longue.
Overlooking Lake Garda in Italy, Viganò is also known for his design of the Istituto Marchiondi Spagliardi and the Faculty of Architecture at the Politecnico di Milano, and was the founder of renowned journal L'Architecture d'Aujourd'hui.

Exquisite B&B Italia designed outdoor fabrics lend another level of sophistication and charm to the design with an extensive use of texture in combination with earthy tones from taupes through to terracotta and rust. As a counterpoint to these natural materials and tones, Van Duysen partners the seating elements with two sizes of coffee table made from concrete. Its geometric architectural form is offered in off-white or pale grey.
B&B Italia is available exclusively in South East Asia from Space – Australia, and Space – Singapore and Kuala Lumpur.
