Working on design projects for Christian Louboutin, Wedgwood, Mulberry, and his own signature brand, Lee Broom, London-based product designer Lee Broom's work is categorically diverse.
Lee Broom launched his studio in 2007 and has since built a collection that is rich in drama and theatrics, connecting back to his early training in theatre and fashion design at Central St Martins. The collection of highly detailed furniture pieces, lighting and objects formed in crystal, brass and marble, is linked by craftsmanship, heritage and equal measures of beauty and spectacle. Describing his work as both familiar and unique; Broom often takes classical styles and materials and reinterprets them.
Challenging materials and form is another central theme in the studio's design output. Working with the highest quality materials, marbles from Carrara, Italy and crystals from the Czech Republic, in collaboration with makers who are focused on evolving their craft, give shape to each piece in new and surprising ways.

The Crystal Bulb is a traditional light bulb reinvented using hand-blown cut crystal and the Op Art-inspired Optical Table Lamp with its linear strips of black in contrast to the globe's classic spherical form is a throw-back to the 1960s modern art scene. The Clear Crystal Bulb Table Lamp inspired by the delicate craftsmanship of crystal cutting and combines industrial influences with decorative qualities, Op Art patterns were the inspiration for this modern table light made from powder-coated spun steel and blown from opaque glass,
The work of Lee Broom and his studio has not gone unnoticed winning numerous accolades, including The Queen’s Award for Enterprise presented by Her Majesty The Queen in 2015 at Buckingham Palace, and, most recently, Lee Broom was recognised alongside architects and designers including David Adjaye, Amanda Levete, David Chipperfield, Edward Barber and Jay Osgerby, as one of London’s most influential people by The London Evening Standard newspaper in their 2017 Progress 1000 list.

At the Milan Furniture Fair this year, Lee Broom is launching the show 'Observatory' at Via Lovanio, 6, Brera. The exhibition will open from 18–22 April. Expect new planetary inspired pieces. Stay tuned to more space for all the news from Milan Design Week.
