Ron Gilad
Ron Gilad, born in Tel-Aviv in 1972, is a New York based designer. Gilad studied industrial design at the Bezalel Academy of Art and Design in Jerusalem, where he discovered a fascination with deconstructing the function of an object. This interest has lead to a broad body of work including furniture, interiors and jewellery. His hybrid object designs combine a practical genius with an aesthetic game, exhibiting Gilad's meticulous attention and focus, and bordering between abstract and functional. His work is exhibited in top museums and design galleries across the world, and is the permanent collections at the Metropolitan Museum in New York, and the Tel-Aviv Museum of Modern Art, while a number of collaborations with international companies, such as Moooi, has resulted in stunning iconic design pieces.
