Space Nurtures - a programme designed to develop the future generation of designers
June 2012 - We are pleased to announce the two winners of the inaugural Space Nurtures Programme, co-organised by Space Furniture and Vitra, supported by DesignSingapore Council. Congratulations to Ng Shin Luey from Nanyang Technological University and Loh Jia Hui from LASALLE College of the Arts! Their creative application to the Vitra Panton chair was outstanding and has won the judges’ votes.
The prize is an all expense paid design workshop cum attachment from 8 to 21 July 2012. The programme consists of a week-long workshop at Domaine de Boisbuchet (France) conducted by Hlin Helga Gudlaugsdottir and Ronald Jones from The Experience Design Group (MFA Program at Konstfack University of Arts, Crafts and Design, Stockholm) and an exciting week-long attachment at Weil am Rhein (Switzerland) with Vitra, the manufacturer of the Panton Chair.
The opportunity to attend the Boisbuchet workshop as well as learn first hand on-site with a world-class furniture manufacturer Vitra is a priceless one and will no doubt enrich Shin Luey and Jia Hui.
There will be an exhibition organised later part of the year during which all 12 finalists’ prototypes will be shown. More details will be released shortly.
We thank all participants especially our finalists, as well as guest judges for their support in making our programme a success.
Once again, we congratulate our winners!
